Easy Christmas Gifts

Only four days 'till Christmas, so many people are rushing around doing their shopping right about now. I thought I'd give a list of some fairly inexpensive gifts that you can most likely pick up in your local mall. Or you could just use this list next year.

Davids Tea Travel Mug
I cannot recommend these enough. I got mine two days ago for $32 canadian, and it was worth every penny. If you want to buy someone a gift they can really use, this is the way to go. It keeps drinks hot for hours (not kidding it was burning my tongue two hours later), and is super easy to carry. They also have ones that lock closed for slightly more clumsy people.

Davids Tea
This is perfect for tea drinkers. There are a few ways you can go with this. Buy them some teas based off a favourite flavour, buy them some of your favourite teas, or buy them one of the mixed sets shown above. I also really recommend getting a Davids Tea membership card, because the free tea is definitely worth it. I also highly suggest trying forever nuts, see my blog post on it for more details.

Bath & Body Works
I feel like this one was a given. Its the perfect gift for anyone. Germaphobe= soaps and hand sanitizers. Compulsive moisturizer= lotion. Someone who loves candles= Candles! There is literally something for everyone.

Spa Gift Certificate
You'd be hard-pressed to find a spa that doesn't sell some sort of gift certificate this time of year. There are cheaper ones that entail a mani-pedi, or more expensive new with the whole package. Everyone needs a bit of relaxation, so this is definitely an incredible idea.

Wishing everyone a happy holidays and merry Christmas!

Eyebrow Threading for the First Time

I have discovered something amazing. Eyebrow threading is something that has never really entered my radar of things to try. Before today, my eyebrow regime was simply plucking the odd hair that developed a mind of its own. But today, I said no more, and decided to try eyebrow threading for the first time.
I was terrified, I'm not going to lie. I thought it would hurt like hell, but it was really fine. It felt like someone was rubbing sandpaper over my skin, and while that wasn't a good feeling, it certainly hurt less than tweezing.
The whole process took about 5 minutes, in which I learned some interesting things.
FIRST: You have to help. The stylist will ask you to hold your eyelid to stretch it out. It's not hard, but it can catch you by surprise if you aren't expecting it.
SECOND: Your eyes will water. I went before either of my friends, and my eyes were watering like crazy. My friends thought I was a baby, but then the exact same thing happened to them. It wasn't pain, our eyes just started to water.

All in all, I would say this was a good idea. For me it was $11.50 CAD, and it was worth every penny. I'm definitely going to get mine done again.

Delicious "Green" Smoothies

These smoothies are not actually coloured green. They are however the most healthy thing for you on the planet. This is my recipe, and is fairly beginner for green smoothie drinkers. I'm slowly working my way up to a completely green smoothie, but I'm providing you all with my base recipe.
You will Need:
1 1/2 cup apple cider (or water if you can't have acids.)
1 tbsp Chia seeds.
1 cup berries/frozen fruit
1/2 cup spinach

Put all this in a blender and enjoy. This is an incredible breakfast and is so good for you. As you get used to the taste you can began to add more spinach and greens and less fruit.

Also for added nutrients you can add matcha powder, spirulena (an algae that is amazing for you) or goji berries.

Hope you liked this post. Comment below with your favourite smoothie recipes!

Adorable Christmas Sweaters!

Not gonna lie, before this year, I was never much of a Christmas sweater type of person. That all changed when I fully realized just how many options we had this year. I've decided to show you some of my favourite (that I've found online, not that I own).

Let it Snow...
I had to start this list off with a classic, so of course I went with the adorable Rudolph one from Dorothy Perkins. You can get it here for only $26.

And for our next pick, I found this adorable one inspired by Disney's Frozen. This one is perfect for any parents with Frozen-obsessed kids (or if you are the Frozen obsessed kid). You can get it here for $28.47

I must say, this one's a favourite. A perfect combination of Ugly Christmas sweater and classy elegance. Get it here for $42.00

Penguins!!! It's nearly impossible for me not to love this sweater. I love that it's not exclusively a Christmas sweater, and works all winter. Get it here for $29.99
This one is beautiful. It's very mature looking, but still works for  Christmas sweater parties. I actually might buy this one. You can buy it here for $19.99

November Favourites

Today is certainly bittersweet. I will miss November, but we are now officially in the season for Christmas!! I've already started stocking up for the holidays, but I thought I'd take a moment to look back on one of the best months of the year. Here are my November Favourites!!

Hello...by Adele
This song has been my anthem this month. I have been playing it none-stop since it dropped. Adele is one of the few singers where I don't dislike any of her songs. This is one of her best (right up there with Set Fire to the Rain), and I can't wait for the rest of her album. If you haven't listened to it, please do!

Pacifica Lip Butter
My last post was about this product, so I won't go into too much detail. I will say, however, that I find this is a product that is easier to apply with a burst as opposed to your finger.

Hawaii 5-0
I know, I know, this show has been on forever, but I can't help it. I've recently gotten into it, and I'm marathoning it from the beginning (with my family, not by myself alone). Every single character is great, relatable and the show features some incredible villains. I would argue the Wo Fat is one of the best TV villains out there, and I can't wait to see how the rest of the series plays out.

Mockingjay Part Two

I was so excited to go see this movie. I was not looking forward to it, because one of my favourite characters dies in it, but I was very impressed. Not only did they hit every single note that the book hits, but they managed to make a movie that didn't seem like it had been taken word for word from a book. Also, Johanna carried this movie. She's in maybe three scenes, but it made the entire film for me.

Wet and Wild Lipstick
While it's not the most incredible lipstick I've ever tried, ti surely impresses me with the pigment and application. Try out the colour Black Orchid.

Fool-Proof DIY Christmas Ornaments

With the christmas season approaching, I decided it was time to break out my holiday DIYs. We recently got two new kitties, and we have a beloved dog, so I decided to do a DIY to incorporate them.
I chose to do a salt-dough ornament, and press their paws into the dough. I made a recipe that I absolutely love, and I can give you details on how I decorated them.

Salt Dough Recipe
1 cup flour
1/2 cup salt
1/2 cup water

Method
Mix flour and salt in a mixing bowl. Add water. Mix or knead until you have a ball of slightly sticky, malleable dough.
Flour a surface HEAVILY and flour a rolling pin. Roll out the dough until about an 1/2 inch thick. Use cookie cutters or the rim of a glass to cut out the desired shape. Make a hole in them with a straw
Tip!!! If you plan on pushing your animals paw into the dough, I suggest either rolling it a bit thicker or cutting two shapes, to layer after pressing.

Bake at 250 degrees F for 2-3 hours or until hard.

Decorating
Acrylic paint
Glitter
Mod Podge Dimentional Magic
Mod Podge basic sealant

Paint your ornaments with your desired colour and designs, I found that a slightly watery paint worked best, as it filled all the cracks. I used a watery black, and it took a few coats. Wait until it is completely dry! Then paint the inside of your paw print impression with Mod Podge. Carefully pour the glitter into the impressions. Give it a moment to dry, then dump the excess glitter in the garbage.
Give it a few minutes to set, and then carefully fill the indentations with Dimentional Magic. Let dry fully, I recommend overnight.
Then coat your ornament in your sealant. When dry, string it on a ribbon and VOILA!! A christmas ornament filled with love for your pets.

____________________________________________________________

I found it easier with bigger animals to wait until they were lying down, put the dough circle on a plate and then just lightly push their paw into the dough. Otherwise the foot will go right through the dough.
Remember to wipe their little furry paws after. If the circle is heavily floured, they won't have sticky dough on them, but trust me, cats still leave tiny little pawprints all over your house.

Beauty Product Rant Alert!!!!!

Pacifica Creamy Lip Butters

Never in my life have I been so excited to write a blog post. When my mom dragged me out to a health food store to pick up some organic free-range eggs, I was less than thrilled. However, when she told me to stop bothering her and go over to look at the makeup, I perked up a little bit.
I happen end to notice a very small display set up for a brand called Pacifica. I was looking at their products, and one specific one stood out. I finally convinced my mum to buy it for me, and I adore it.
The product I bought is Pacifica Coconut Kiss Creamy Lip Butter, in the colour Shell. It is made with natural minerals,is vegan, and is cruelty free.
Having my makeup products be cruelty free is very important to me. If I ever have the option to get a cruelty free product, I will definitely go for it. This product is high-quality, and smells delicious.
You can buy it here for 10.00$, and I really hope to be able to try more of their products, because I am very impressed!
